“If the examined life is not worth living, then is death not worth examining?”

It’s a clever thing to postulate, and this is precisely the program of a new collaboration featuring Cabinet Magazine with Philosopher Simon Critchley at Family Business of 520 West 21st street.

The project bears the ominous title School of Death and will apparently be just that. A new “lesson” pertaining to the above topic will be written on a chalkboard at Family Business each day to accompany a series of evening talks and gatherings at the exhibition space.

This project combines an eternally relevant topic with some of the most intriguing and culturally gifted minds of our time, amounting to an experience that promises to be as fun as it is cerebral and stimulating.
