“It’s a work with clear surrealist references”

My latest painting, entitled “Stages”, is a quadryptic of almost five meters of width. The painting shows my interpretation of that subject, surrounding man and woman, with their relations to themselves and nature, since their birth, with their path of growing, in emotional and physical aspects, until the arriving of inevitable death. It’s a work with clear surrealist references, including symbolism connected with that explored theme.
One of the characteristics of my work is the relation of colors and contrasts, influenced by brazilian culture and my own attraction to establish harmony between so many colors. They also have the responsibility to evoke and provoke emotions, attracting the eyes to beauty and an artistic point of view, that also comes from the subject matter, that in the art world can be expressed in infinite ways.
I’ve had several solo exhibitions and group exhibitions in Brazil, also in the United States, Italy, Hungary, Iceland and recently in England. I have participated in important Biennials of Arts in Brazil (Brasília-DF) twice, and my paintings are part of relevant Permanent Collections. I’m also an award holding graphic designer, completing my first work when I was 13 years old, consisting of illustrations for Unicef. Later, I worked with international publisher’s as an artist and designer, including logo design and trophy design. I also have experience working with scenography and costume design.
