“My pictures develop from the relationship of tensions between intellect and emotion.â€Â
Courtesy of the artist. Brigitta Westphal  Humans and nature stand as the main themes of my work. My pictures develop from the relationship of tensions between intellect and emotion. I find inspiration from the artistic creative process in the works of important writers such as Robert Musil and Hermann Hesse but also in personal events, which reach far beyond everyday experiences. Since 1986 transferring world literature into adequate picturesque works is a special challenge for me. In recent years I have changed the center of my life between my Franconian homeland (Germany) and Southern Tuscany (Italy). Â
